In September, while in Boston<\/strong>, Massachusetts<\/strong>, we stopped at the new Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA)<\/a>, a breathtaking 65,000-square-foot building designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro<\/a> and located on the harbour at Fan Pier, in south Boston. Look at the centre of the picture below and you’ll see the end of the inclined research room, where you can sit in front of a Mac to get information on the museum and its work while having the impression that you’re going to fall into the bay.<\/p>\n

There we saw a really interesting Louise Bourgeois<\/a> exhibition that you can visit until the 2nd of March, 2008. Yes, it includes one of those lovely 30-foot-tall bronze spiders<\/strong> that the artist, who’s ninety-six this year, loves to call Maman<\/em>, like the one she put on display in 1999 at the Tate Modern<\/a>, when she was the first artist to fill the Turbine Hall<\/strong>. Or like the one now outside the Guggenheim Bilbao<\/strong>. Or maybe they’re all the same one. You can also find other disturbing pieces, like Cell (Hand and Mirrors)<\/em> or Janus Fleuri<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Philip-Lorca diCorcia<\/a> exhibition had closed recently, but we did catch an interesting project<\/a> on the Boston Harbour Islands<\/a>, which we had visited earlier that day.<\/p>\n
